Nana… (waiting on the shore…)
Hey, sorry I’m late.
Have you been waiting long?
I had trouble getting here,
but you know that same old song.
She grins.
I talk.
She smiles.
then silence for awhile we watch the light
play in the tide
in one thing I am sure, I know she won’t be
bored. Her heart soars as the waves collide
Nana… she’s waiting on the shore
Dancing on the water’s edge
Who could ask for more?
The sun’s about to set, soon I’ll have to go
some of my plans haven’t worked out, but
that, I’m sure you know
I try to say I’m sorry ‘bout the red Ferrari
and she just points to sky
Like a child that wants to play, turns and
walks away
back to the waters edge.
Nana… she’s waiting on the shore
Dancing on the water’s edge
Who could ask for more?
Well now I have to go, thank you for the
sun.
Expressionless goes her face.
As if she’s figured out we’re done.
I’ll see you when I get the chance next time
I think I’ll stay.
Nana’s gone to dance now her thoughts sweep
me away.
Now I drift like sand in the surf I hope I’m
heading home…
Nana… is waiting on the shore
Hey, sorry I’m late.
Have you been waiting long?
Have
you been waiting long?
Have you been waiting long…
